Dr. Kenny Baik, an accomplished saxophonist, has graced numerous prestigious stages across the United States and abroad. His performances have captivated audiences at renowned venues such as the Mansion at Strathmore, Columbia University, Johns Hopkins University’s Shriver Hall, the Peabody Institute’s Griswold Hall, Friedberg Hall, and Goodwin Hall. Additionally, Kenny has showcased his talent at esteemed international locations including the Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Hall in South Korea, and Seoul Yamaha Artists Concert Hall.

 

His musical prowess extends to collaborations with esteemed orchestras, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Song Orchestra, Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seoul Peabody Alumni Orchestra. Notably, Kenny's dedication to his craft was evident during his tenure as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Band in Quantico, Virginia, where he delivered over 150 concerts annually. Memorable performances from this period include appearances at the 2007 Super Bowl XLI, Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington D.C, and Columbus Day Parade in New York City, where he had the honor of performing “Hail to the Chief'' for former President George W. Bush.

 

In addition to his remarkable performance career, Kenny has also contributed to the field of music education. He served as Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Northern Virginia Community College, where he undoubtedly inspired and nurtured the next generation of musicians.

 

Kenny's influence extends beyond the stage and classroom; his recordings are accessible on major streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube, allowing his artistry to reach audiences worldwide.

 

Academically, Kenny holds the esteemed Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the guidance of renowned saxophonist Gary Louie. Prior to this, he earned a Master's degree in Performance from the Peabody Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia.

 

Currently, Kenny serves as the Executive Director at Musical Elements LLC, where he continues to champion musical excellence and innovation. Most recently, he had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall, adding yet another illustrious venue to his impressive list of accomplishments.
